点评:I have been visiting the chabot space and science center for over 25 years. Today was the first time in 5 to 6 years. We found it a total waste of time and money.
It is no longer really an observatory and science center as in 2021 it was taken over by NASA Ames to become a children's center. It main purpose is marketing STEM courses to kids. We saw a movie "5000 Eyes" which are sensors in a telelscope observing the universe.
30 min was spent showing beautiful pictures while giving no usable information. Dark matter was a major subject of this documentary. Other than the existence of dark matter we learned nothing about it. Not even a defituon of what it is or believed to be. This center sadly is a waste of time unless one has 3 to 7 year olds that you wish to distract or entertain and possibly inspire them to study science. This is not a bad goal but this should be in all their marketing so everyone else is informed of the lack of any information or teaching to order children or adults.
