肇兴侗寨的点评
点评：We chose Zhaoxing Dongzhai (肇兴侗寨) over Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village (西江千户苗寨) as the former is more laid back. We wouldn't say it is more authentic as most of the Dongzhai in Guizhou have commercialized to cater to tourists. Unfortunately, we did not choose a better homestay and that had partly spoilt our visit as we spent 4 nights there. Apart from the main street, in the backyards, one could still find some residents going about their daily lives. The eateries there were all overpriced. Do trek to Tang'an rice terrace (our main highlight) and visit the vantage point opposite the main entrance gate to view the entire Dongzhai. The best photo taking time will be at night where all the lightings are up.
