点评:Our tour of City Hall was way above our expectations. We thought there'd be one main hall and it would be very plain and 'civic' looking with official photos, coats of arms, etc. Not at all! We saw several magnificent rooms - the Blue Hall (which isn't blue), the Golden Hall, the Council Chamber and the Gallery of the Prince. It was interesting hearing about the weddings that are held in the latter. What a grand location where anyone can marry!
Ken Phil, our tour guide, was excellent - clear to listen to, fun and a mine of information. We loved seeing the location of the Nobel Banquets held every December in the Blue Hall. What a feat of hosting that must be serving dinner to over a 1000 guests! It was so interesting hearing him explain all the murals in the Golden Hall - 18 million gold and glass tiles - and what they represented, as well as explaining the workings of the Council Chamber. It was one of our favourite things to do in Stockholm and we are so glad we didn't miss out on it.
