A good walk along Bray beachfront with some picturesque scenery
Bray Promenade的点评
点评：We walked along various sections of the seafront Promenade during our stay in Bray from the 3rd to the 8th July.
It starts at one end by Bray Harbour and stretches for about a mile along the coast to the base of Bray Head.
It is a scenic beachfront walk with views of Bray Beach, the expansive bay, Bray Head with the Wicklow Mountains in the background.
We also got views of Killiney Hill, beyond the Harbour in the direction of Dublin
Running alongside of the promenade is a lawned area and small gardens with pebbley Bray Beach on the other.
A feature on the promenade is the the iconic Victorian Bandstand, which is reviewed separately. There is a large circular shelter with some colourful artwork on it's walls.
Dotted along the promenade are a number of kiosks selling ice cream, food, drinks and essentials for the beach, buckets, spades etc.
The is a kiddies play area towards the Bray Head end
One evening we did meet up with family for dinner in a restaurant on the promenade, Butler and Barry.
Along with some notable buildings on the promenade, including Bray Rowing Club, Youth Club there are public toilets.
We were frequent visitors to the Hibernia Pub which was along the seafront on the opposite side of the road from the Promenade
We did walk up part of the pathway up Bray Head, from there we got good views along the beach, the Promenade and beyond.
Strand Road runs alongside the beachfront walk and it is lined with a plethora of of shops, bars, restaurants and an amusement arcade.
