点评：The Boat House is holiday accommodation on the Caerhays Estate and, unfortunately, we found the condition of the property disappointing on arrival, particularly in terms of its decoration and general state of repair.
When we arrived, there was a noticeable smell of damp and cooking throughout the house. We were also concerned by the condition of some of the bathroom fittings and paintwork, as well as the ill-fitting tiles around the toilet. Taken together, these issues made us feel quite uncomfortable with the property.
That said, the property was clean on arrival, as far as could reasonably be expected given the condition of some of the fittings and finishes.
The property team were helpful and offered us alternative accommodation, which we declined as the alternatives were not on the seafront. While we were out for the day, the team carried out some basic repairs to address some of the issues we had raised.
The Boat House is in an excellent location, right on the seafront, although it is also situated next to the public toilets. We appreciate that the property team have no control over this aspect of the location. However, the decoration, fittings and general maintenance of the property are within their control and, in our view, need considerably more attention.
Overall, the location is exceptional, but the condition of the property did not meet the standard we expected for holiday accommodation in such a beautiful setting.
