点评:Our Iceland’s itinerary included a stop at Blue Lagoon, a man-made lagoon from the geothermal power plant discharge that has rich mineral content. It’s about 45 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik. When we arrived at the parking lot, the place looked surreal - it was surrounded by lava rocks, including the walkway to the entrance.
We had the premium package, which give us several amenities – i.e. robe, three face masks (including a small silica mud sample to take home), and a drink. You are required to rinse yourself – NAKED -- before going into the pool, but this facility has private rooms for changing and showering. I was very glad I had the robe because it was FREEZING to go from the building to the outside pool! We went at the end of June and the temperature was cold – especially you are wet from the shower and wearing only the bathing suit.
Blue Lagoon was magical, with the steam coming up from the milky blue mineral water, but the place was very crowded with tourists from around the world and very noisy. We were glad we experienced Iceland’s iconic Blue Lagoon – but once was enough.
