North Carolina Zoo的点评
点评：First the complaints - we were not informed before we bought tickets that the tram only worked half way through the zoo (it should have been on the website!). This was a hardship on us as we're in our 70s and have some mobility issues - we were hoping to ride the tram to the other side of the zoo to view the animals we liked best before we got tired. Another annoyance was that there were not enough viewing points to the various animals. I'm all in favor of large, wild-like habitats and I don't quibble on the animals being far away, but I'd at least like a chance at distance viewing. Instead trees and bushes often screened the enclosures and there are usually only two, maybe three places to see the animals from the trails. I know that the African animals aren't as active in colder weather, but a day in January was the only chance we had and we had been advised that the zoo's animals were often more active in the winter than in the summer. We thought we had a good chance to see animals, but with so few places to see them from, we viewed only 4 Red River Hogs, 4 Zebras, 2 Ostrich, 5 Rhinos (best sighting of the day!), the top of the head of one elephant, the heads and necks of 2 giraffes, and a fleeting view of a herd of antelope who were quickly out of sight. My other big complaint is that the website has so little information. It doesn't even say how many animals of each species are in the zoo. The website's lack of info is repeated on the signage on the enclosures themselves - not enough and not nearly as much as I've seen at other zoos.Come on, zookeepers, you can do a better job of teaching! Still I'm glad I went and the money I paid was well spent if it goes to wild habitats. Know that you can get discounts for ordering online, for being seniors, and for going in the off season.
