Great looking fall, from the top.
Burgess Falls State Park的点评
点评:The photographs you see of Burgess Fall are a little misleading. The falls are definitely gorgeous but the photos you see most of the time, are from the perspective of someone who kayaked to the base of the falls, using an entry point that is NOT in the Burgess Falls Park. The Burgess Falls Park, which I visited only allows you to see the top of the Burgess Falls and subsequent smaller falls as you walk from the parking lot to the observation platform.
The distance is about 1.5 hours from Nashville by car. I arrived early in the morning, so I didn't have a lot of people to get in the way of my photographs.
The parking lot was NOT huge, so I could see it filling up quickly on weekends and in the summer.
Here's just some of the photos I took as I walked along the gravel road path to the falls. There is actually a path directly next to the river, but I wasn't in the mood for climbing over roots and branches.
Note: If you are ADA there's a gravel road that gets you closer to the overlook platform. But there is still a little short walk down to the platform and I did not see any ramp.
Otherwise, you can take the riverside trail and see all of the different waterfalls before you get to that platform.
