Beautiful ride through the Redwoods
Roaring Camp Railroads的点评
点评：We had a great time at Roaring Camp Railroads. There is a nice picnic area with lots of tables, so we brought our lunch & had a relaxing meal before our ride.
There is a small village where you can take a few pictures, check out the blacksmith, the telegraph machine, the gift shop & the arts & craft activities for kids. There is a small grill with burgers & snacks & a banquet hall for special events. There are also duck ponds & meadows which make for a very beautiful setting. You can walk directly into Henry Cowell Redwood park for a nature hike through the trees if you want to make a full day of it.
The Train is fantastic with the option for open air or covered seating. The announcer on the train was talkative, but said he was aware of complaints of too much narration so he gave us lots of silent moments to enjoy the scenery & the sounds of the steam train. The Redwoods are very beautiful & the ride is relaxing. It was nice to spend some time unplugged from our phones & just appreciating the forest. There is a quick break at the top of the mountain with a very nice Redwood Grove for some photo opportunities.
If you appreciate nature or trains, then I highly recommend you take this journey!
