点评：Tullie House is an absolute jewel in the crown of the Carlisle experience. Please visit, I really don't think that you'll be disappointed.
It's a museum about the Carlisle people and area, full of well curated interesting and thoughtful exhibitions - hands on and interactive in some areas. Beautifully presented, easily accessible, inclusive and is excellent value for money. A day ticket at the time of writing is £7.50, a 12 month ticket is £15.
There's something for everyone...a fantastic café, an amazing and huge outdoor space with beautiful planting schemes, a shop, facilities and most importantly of all the staff and volunteers are absolutely incredible. Someone has written a review on here about the staff/volunteers and in it she raved about the friendliness of staff. Honestly, she wasn't wrong. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful.
Tullie House has had a massive physical upgrade and the new welcoming atrium, shop and ground floor exhibition spaces are incredible. The main exhibition space hosts national touring exhibitions and the next major one for TULLIE is in association with The British Museum on Roman Gladiators in Britain. It'll be stunning.
There's a fascinating small area about Carlisle - sometimes easily missed if you are on your way to the main exhibition space, but absolutely well worth closer inspection. It's just off the main atrium en route to the stairs and lift.
We visited knowing that we'd not manage the whole site in one viewing so bought a yearly pass. Blimey, I'm so pleased we did as we needed a return visit since the main exhibition we saw (Colour - shades, tints and tones) was exceptional.
Tullie House is still carrying out upgrades to some of its areas and I would definitely recommend checking on the website before you visit as to which areas are closed.
