Brilliant, Nostalgia, Luxurious steam trip.

点评：Purchased this trip as a Christmas Present for my wife, Linda, in November last year ss we both love nostalgic train journeys.
I had to change our attendance and the staff were very helpful and accommodating which set the service standard for. The whole trip.
On arrival at the station there was ample parking at a cost of £8.00 for the day.
We were greeted by one of the volunteers on the platform who scanned our tickets and explained the whole trip and showed us to the ‘Ruth.’ Director’s carriage. Because it was a quiet time and having booked previously, there was just the two of us in this four setter carriage which had very comfortable upholstered seats and a beautiful fixed wooden table. (See attached pictures). A very luxurious carriage for a small gauge train journey.
Once in the carriage our lunch was provided in a ‘jute’ bag. It contained sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, biscuits, crisps, Prosecco beer or soft drinks.
A very enjoyable lunch to be consumed on the journey to our destination.
The journey was very nostalgic and a reminder of steam travel I experienced in the 50’s.
The Lakes countryside was stunning, even in a cloudy day.
The journey was approximately 45 minutes long and then a stay of 45 minutes at the turnaround.
An excellent experience that we both thoroughly enjoyed and can heartily recommend.
