Grand day out, with expensive car parking

点评：Recently purchased the 150 yr celebrations 1 year pass, we live local so hopefully will get a good few trips in. Primary use will be to take our granddaughter on days out, but also plan on using for a joint national rail, hike & a pint trip or two.
Today was great, sunny weather, albeit chilly, inside cabin it was then. All staff inter-acted with were very friendly, approachable and helpful.
Pity the playground at Dalegarth not yet usable, and doesn't look like work has started yet. Good picnic booths though to keep out of the wind.
Reminder to self not to use a front carriage again, too noisy.
Biggest disappointment of the day, extortionate car park charge. Two options, 2hrs for £4 (no use if you are going on the train) or all day for £8. This on top of a pricey train ticket.
