点评:Parked at the Cruden Bay car park and made the 10 minute walk through the woods, up the slight hill and through about 3 different worlds.
The views are amazing all the way up, and you are met with some old military style buildings, then a stunning vista over the cliffs and out across the North Sea.
At the castle, it is really rugged, wild and possibly dangerous, but a great explore. You are free to go anywhere, and the sheer cliffs down to the violent sea make for some dizzy moments!
Was not too busy, but had a great time here. The signs outside say unsafe building, do not enter, but I guess that's to cover themselves.
There was no information boards, no your guides and no facilities, but that added to the attraction of this amazing ruin.
If it were to be taken over by an organisation, such as the National Trust, it would help preserve it, however it would lose some of its rugged appeal.
I felt like an explorer again, and could only imagine what stories were hidden behind the crumbling walls!
Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.
