点评:Kenya has a lot more to offer than just wildlife. Nathan Horton’s Northern Kenya Photo tour combines people and landscapes with wildlife photography. This was my twelfth tour with Nathan and it did not disappoint. Led by Maceij Radomski, we traveled north from Nairobi to Lake Turkana photographing four indigenous Kenyan tribes – the Samburu, the El Molo, the Turkana and the Rendile. Maceij has a good working knowledge of Kenya and was excellent at organizing the photo shoots to ensure we all got good images. When we arrived at the El Molo village, Maceij produced an i-phone photo he had taken on his tour twelve years earlier. The man in the photo is now the village chief who immediately recognized his younger self. The chief and his wife extended us a warm welcome and were delighted to have us photograph village residents. Getting good wildlife images requires patience and we had ample time at Lake Nakuru to photograph pelicans, flamingos and egrets in the early morning light and the evening sunset. Similarly, at Samburu National Reserve our patience was rewarded with great shots of a pride of lions, a herd of elephants, as well as impala, zebra, giraffes, hyenas and ostriches. This was a very rewarding tour and I would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone looking to explore the northern region of Kenya.
