点评：We visited on a Friday afternoon while in Jim Thorpe. It's a long walk up the hill from the main tourist area, but it's worth it - and you will see little signs with Stabin's art with arrows pointing the way. There is a minimum donation of $5 to enter, but the gallery is extensive and worth the price. Be sure to read more about the artist and why he chose to walk away from his job as an illustrator. It makes his art all the more meaningful. He has a wide range as an artist, from the whimsical alphabet series to the deeply meaningful turtle series. He has created everything from postage stamps to album covers. The gallery also features a restaurant and a music venue. We had the privilege of meeting Vic while he was running a soundcheck for the show that evening. He put our son to work, helping to adjust the volume at the sound board while he and the pianist listened. He noticed our son's Edward Gorey tee-shirt and we talked about the parallels between his art and Gorey's alphabet series. We took home a few prints and are looking forward to adding them to our art collection.
