As adrenaline seekers and first-time white water rafters, Tenorio Adventure Company definitely delivered! We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an exciting adventure in Costa Rica.
Although we had a rental car, we opted for the transportation option, and we were really happy we did. Our driver, Carlos, was incredibly friendly and talkative and made the drive enjoyable by teaching us different things about Costa Rica along the way.
We booked a group tour, but since we were visiting during the off-season, it ended up being a private experience with just my husband and me. Our rafting guide, Jason, was fantastic! He was hilarious, gave us great instructions, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire experience. He also pointed out interesting facts about the wildlife, plants, and landmarks along the river, which made the experience even more enjoyable and gave us a better appreciation for our surroundings.
It had rained the night before, so we were warned that the river levels were higher than usual and that our rafting portion could be shorter than expected because of the faster-moving water. Even with the higher water levels, Jason did a great job guiding us through the rapids and making sure we were having a great time.
There is quite a bit of driving involved with this excursion, including an extremely bumpy and winding road to and from the river, so definitely be prepared for that! Roy, the driver and photographer who accompanied us on the excursion, was incredibly friendly, and we really enjoyed getting to know him and chatting with him during the drive.
After rafting, we were treated to lunch featuring casado, a traditional Costa Rican dish. I ordered the tilapia and my husband had the chicken, and both were delicious! It was the perfect meal after a morning on the river.
They also offered the photos and videos taken throughout the excursion for an additional $45. This was completely optional, and we appreciated not feeling pressured to purchase them.
Overall, we had such a fun experience and couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to white water rafting. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Now that we’ve gotten our first taste of rafting, we’re already looking forward to tackling Class IV and V rapids next!

乘独木舟游览结束后，我们享用了以“卡萨多”为主的午餐——这是一道哥斯达黎加的传统美食。我点了罗非鱼，我的丈夫则选择了鸡肉。两道菜都美味极了！在河边度过一个上午后，这真是一顿完美的午餐。
