点评：We walked the length of Corso Umberto every one of the four days that we were in Taormina in late April 2026 on the third leg of a five week visit to Sicily. It is a lively and frequently crowded pedestrianized street about a kilometre in length running from Porta Catania (near the parking garage and hotel shuttle pick-up spot) at one end to Porta Messina at the other, It is home to a mix of tacky tourist shops, medium and higher end boutiques, fast food outlets, cafés and restaurants, gelato shops, historic churches, street musicians and a great lookout (Piazza IX Aprile). For us the most appealing aspect of Corso Umberto was the opportunity to people watch, particularly on the weekend. Of the boutiques, we particularly liked the unique jewelry of Florentine artist Angela Caputo which was featured at Aria di Sicilia located at #123). Corso Umberto is not to be missed if you want to flavour the eclectic mix that Taormina offers the visitor.
