Charleston Music Hall的点评
点评：I attended the Howard Jones concert on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the Charleston Music Hall. The concert itself was fine, but the security guards monitoring the front row did not display appropriate behavior at the event.
I was in Section A, Row 1, Seat 12, and there was a seat between me and the two women to my right. The three of us were standing and dancing, enjoying the show, but the two security guards on my right came over to the two women and made them sit. The women later got up again, but not too long after, the security guards came over to them and made them sit down again. I looked at one of the guards and he smiled and motioned for me to sit as well. As I spoke with the women, they stated that the guards told them to sit down stating, “You are literally the only ones standing,” which was not true, as there was one woman a few rows behind us who was standing and another woman in the center section who was standing. I told them that there was no need for the guards to make us sit, as there was no policy in place and we were standing by our seats and not the stage. I stated that I would get up for the next song if it was upbeat, which it was, and I did. The other women hesitated, but after a while, they felt more comfortable to stand again.
After the show, one of the women complained that the security guard with the glasses nearly forced her down when telling her to sit the first time they approached her. The security guards are there to ensure the safety and compliance of the patrons as well as the entertainers. There was no reason for the security guards to try to manipulate us into sitting. The behavior of these security guards displayed nothing more than misuse of power. I emailed Charleston Music Hall on September 10, 2025, and have the record of it. As of today, I have received no response.
