Old dog (56) learns new tricks after all with Andy’s Scuba
普吉岛安迪潜水体验的点评
点评：At 56, I wasn’t sure I could do this. Old dog, new tricks, etc. The online learning was thorough, but when it was time to apply that learning, I had some trepidation.
Victor Demarre and John Walsh got us started in the pool. They worked well together and managed to teach me a number of things that many would consider basic.
For example, floating, successfully, for long periods of time. (Thanks for the extra time and patience, Victor!)
I wasn’t sure I’d be able to equalize my ears, and I wasn’t confident in the mask exercises, but they got me through it with patience and encouragement. You can bet we slept well after that! 😉
Going from the swimming pool to the ocean, with other divers and learning the skills in action instead of in theory on day two was MUCH easier than the pool (as John, Lisa, and Victor promised it would be). 😊
Two skill dives and one easy dive on day two included some really good food on the large dive boat where we saw the comradery John and Victor shared with other instructors and the respect they received. In our case we were close enough for transportation to be provided too! (Check with them on places to stay nearby. Their recommendations match up nicely with TripAdvisor but are pared down to a serviceable pickup distance/radius.) Very tiring day two, but was the fun kind of exhaustion if that makes sense.
Unfortunately, on the final/third day John was unable to join us and another very experienced instructor joined.
Beto was stepped in and did a wonderful job. I felt more confident and comfortable for the last lessons and and deeper dives as we gained our PADI certification.
The class was reasonably priced and the instructors were so good I wish I could rate them ten stars!
If you decide to do this, they are the right instructors to learn from.
