点评:We spent a couple of hours here, just in the museum, not including the cafe. Although a highlight is probably the Spitfire on display and a flight simulator which was pretty entertaining, the main reason we enjoyed it was because of the stories attached to the items on display. Almost every item had a story about the person who found it, owned it, wore it etc and many items were from the local area and local people who lived in the area during the war years. There was a real wealth of detail about several individuals and situations which really helps to personalise what people experienced during the war years. The only thing I didn’t like was the illustration of a full frontal female nude which I found to be offensive and considered it completely unnecessary in the context of the display. Otherwise, a visit is highly recommended. Entry by donation so be generous!
