Not a bad beach but needs better maintenance

点评：Visited the Puri Beach during my trip to Odisha (Orissa) back in June 2026 and it was nice to visit when the weather was relatively calm and pleasant with the sun out. It was also relatively easy to access by autorickshaw, just being a short distance from my hotel and Puri Train station, there are a few areas where you can pay to sit in chairs in the beach if you want to watch the waves coming in or relax in the beach and there were even some markets along the sandy beach. However, while I did enjoy visiting the beach, it wasn't particularly clean or well maintained, as while there were a few clean spots, there was a lot of dirt and dumped people's belongings in parts of the beach, so maintenance of the beach and raising cleanliness awareness for both locals and tourists needs to improve as time goes on. Its also worth noting that there are some parts of the Puri coastline where quicksand happens, so its important to be careful and stick to the areas where most people are visiting without any issues, unless you are quite familiar with the area.
