点评：I had a wonderful visit to the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. I caught it on a lovely, warm, and calm day, making it a fantastic experience. It is a massive, lovely expanse of ground to cover that backs right onto the beach. My only regret is that I didn't have enough time to wander around as much as I wanted—you can actually walk the coastal path all the way back to Rye and along to Winchelsea Beach!
Key Highlights:
- Visitor Centre: Definitely worth a peek. It is packed with lots of general information and includes a gift shop, clean toilets, and a nice cafe.
- Easy Access: Very easy to reach via public transport from Rye town centre. The bus trip only takes between 5 to 8 minutes. Nearby parking also available for private vehicles.
- Weather Tip: The reserve is quite open to the elements, so make sure to dress appropriately for the wind or sun.
A Quick Note:
It was a bit of a pity that a large portion of the reserve is currently closed off to visitors, which limited the walking routes slightly. Be sure to check what's open before you head out.
Overall, it is a beautiful spot and well worth a trip!
