点评:During our recent (April’26) visit to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu we were blessed with a good darshan of Lord Muruga in the Kurinji Andavar temple here.
This temple is located around 3 KM from the famous Kodaikanal lake.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga.
This Temple is known for its architectural beauty and its serene ambiance.
This temple is named after the Kurinji flower, which blooms once every 12 years in the surrounding hills.
The word Kurinji means 'hill region' and Andavar means 'God' in Tamil.
Therefore “Kurinji Andavar” refers to the “God of Hills”
This temple was built in 1936 by an European woman who converted herself to Hinduism and took the name Leelavathi.
She was deeply devoted to Lord Muruga and therefore decided to construct this temple as a symbol of her devotion.
The temple is compact and clean.
The temple maintained well with beautiful surroundings.
The main deity is powerful.
One shouldn’t miss to have a darshan of the Lord here.
