点评:What I liked:
-historical building, nice architectural details
-abundance of plants in common areas
-overall looked clean, no visible dust in common areas
-no scents, no sensory overload if you're sensitive to scents
-feeling of reduced muscle tension throughout the day, including lessened chronic pain (this didn’t really last beyond the day though)
What I didn't like:
-cumbersome online purchase process, ie: trying to buy gift certificates for 2 people when there are warnings on the site that nothing is transferable. Took 4 unanswered phone calls over 2 days, then an e-mail, to finally get somewhat curt confirmation that it was ok to buy gift certificates to be used by 2 different people. Had it just been for myself alone, I would not have moved forward after how frustrating that step was.
-cumbersome online reservation process, can only enter in one gift certificate number on their form, had to call to be able to book 2 different appointments occurring at the same time.
-in the confirmation e-mail you're asked to follow a link to fill out a health form, there was no link in the e-mail. We were not asked to fill anything out upon arrival.
-recorded instructions while in floatation pod were French only. While I understand French perfectly, I would have liked a choice to have the recordings in English, none was readily available, or offered.
-would have liked to lower the music volume, but as we were told that same volume button was to be pushed 3 times to signal distress and summon an employee, I was hesitant to touch it at all
-no mirror in pod room! After your floatation, you are to shower, get dressed (we were not provided with robes, I assume because we were only there for one treatment) & exit, then wait to be accompanied to another room where you can dry your hair, apply make-up etc. A small mirror in the pod room, so people can immediately deal with contact lenses for example, would be an improvement.
-personal preference, but my towels at home are fluffier, this one didn’t feel ‘luxurious’
-not comfortable with the "did everything go ok" question from the accompanying employee immediately when stepping out the pod room door (vulnerable, just showered, confined space, they're still a stranger).
-not comfortable being walked in front of strangers in the common areas, to be shown to the 'vanity' room where you can dry your hair, thankful that it was not a very busy or crowded time.
-when we left (nothing to pay for as all was pre-paid by gift certificates which we dealt with upon arrival) WE said goodbye to the reception desk staff, interrupting their conversation to do so, and THEN one of them thanked us...um?
-both of us had lingering ear issues for 4 days afterwards, despite us having the foresight to use a ‘swimmers ear’ drying product afterwards
What I would have liked:
-while we were "offered" ear plugs during explanation of the floatation pod, why not have a sealed package available IN the pod room rather than "offering" and then having to wait while they're fetched?
-having a washcloth in shower (a sign by the shower says you can ask for one...by the time I saw the sign I was exiting the room!) Why not just have a basket in the pod room with a washcloth, sealed earplugs, individual packets of Vaseline for cuts (which were also offered during the explanation) so people can have what they need at hand without needed to ask and then wait for these included ‘extras’?
-choice of music in flotation pod, or IDEALLY a guided meditation, or nature sounds - not screeching tropical birds mind you, but wind rustling through trees. Apparently, you can bring in your own CD to listen to (this based off the owners reply to other reviews) but nobody ever offered us ANY options for music and I didn’t specifically enjoy what was playing.
