点评：Excellent experience with the local guide and tour business owner Jimmy C. Skilled driving and it only took us 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the Penguins. The journey went from paved road, to rougher road to bog land free wheeling. But the driver and Land Rover made the ride enjoyable although I couldn't always see over the dashboard.
Do not fret like I did that you will not make it back to your ship in time. You will. I would actually book through Jimmy directly, or Viator as he says the better drivers are locals that he hires, for both their driving and tour guide skills. I will see if I can find his direct booking info but up you can Google him. I think his last name was Curtis.
The King Penguins are quite majestic with their coloring but they are loud. We saw this year's chicks as well as the juvenile chicks born last year. We saw adults still egg incubating eggs as well as their huge eggs that had been abandoned. You will also see other penguin species, go down to the shoreline, doing the penguin march. Sorry, I am too lazy to look up the correct spelling for the other 2 species.
So, unless you do an Antartic Expedition to see the Emperor Penguins, the Kings are much more accessible and you will not be cold. Dress for wind protection more than cold. Also, lots of sheep, penguin and geese poo so wear shoes/boots that elevate you off the ground a bit.
