点评：We had been at nearby Sliding Rock. This is only a few minutes away, so we had to stop.
Looking Glass Falls is a 60 foot beauty that gets its name from the monolith located along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is part of the Pisgah National Forest. It gets it water flow from the French Broad River. The film can can actually be seen in the movie Hacksaw Ridge and in an episode of Lassie!
This is waterfall hunting at its easiest. You simply park, walk a few feet..and bam..a gorgeous waterfall!!! There is an observation deck which gives you a great view of the falls framed by the trees. This is perfect for those with mobility issues. From here there are a series of steps here that lead to the base of th falls. You can swim at the base of the falls. But unlike nearby Sliding Rock, there are no lifeguards. So swim at your own risk. We had been out at Sliding Rock so we were tired and stayed at the observation deck taking a few pics.
The falls are only a few minutes away from Sliding Rock. The falls are free and so is the parking. There is parking along the sides. You will see cars parked along the way before you get there. In the mountains its always a good idea when you see cars parked to pull over and see what your missing!
