Amazing Cave, Disappointing Restaurant

Our visit to Grotte des Demoiselles was absolutely unforgettable. This place is truly magical. Everything is beautifully organized, spotless, and very well maintained. One tip for future visitors: even in the middle of summer, the temperature inside the cave is around 15°C (59°F), so be sure to bring a sweater or light jacket.
Our guide was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, funny, and passionate, making the entire tour both educational and entertaining. His storytelling kept everyone engaged from start to finish. The cave itself is breathtaking and absolutely deserves 5 stars.
One note for visitors planning to stay for lunch: if you visit around midday and decide to eat at the on-site restaurant, you may want to manage your expectations. While the café offers a nice selection of snacks and drinks, we found the restaurant disappointing. The food was expensive for the quality, the pizzas tasted like frozen pizzas, the service was quite slow, and our meals were not served together. Our son’s children’s meal arrived about 20 minutes after everyone else had already finished eating.
That said, the restaurant experience should not take away from what is an extraordinary visit. Grotte des Demoiselles is a must-see and one of the most impressive places we have visited in France.
