Overall the zoo was fab!

点评：We had a really great day at Tasmania Zoo overall. The zoo itself is lovely, with a great variety of animals, and we really enjoyed being able to see them up close. The zoo keepers were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly cared about the animals, which made the experience even better.
However, there were a couple of significant downsides that affected the end of our visit. There were six of us trying to get back into Launceston, and booking an Uber was extremely difficult due to almost non-existent mobile signal. You only get reception once you’re right in the middle of the car park outside. After exiting the zoo, we asked a lady at the café if we could use the Wi-Fi briefly just to book an Uber, but she refused. Unfortunately, that left us stranded and having to figure things out ourselves. With no bus route to or from the zoo, transport options are very limited, so this was quite stressful.
Another concern was hygiene. None of the hand sanitizer stations around the park had sanitizer in them. When you’re feeding animals, eating lunch, and especially with kids around who naturally touch their mouths, hand sanitizer should always be available and well stocked.
Overall, the zoo itself and the staff working with the animals were fantastic, but improvements around transport support, customer service at the café, and basic hygiene facilities would make the experience much better for visitors.
