Be cautious: rental deposit never came back
Vietnam Trust Car Rental Company的点评
点评：Serious issue with Vietnam Trust Car Rental (Dalat/ Ha Noi, Vietnam) – deposit never returned from Mr. Pham.
I want to share my experience so that other travellers are aware before booking with Vietnam Trust Car Rental.
The company charged a full deposit of USD 1,554 to my card at the start of the rental (this was not just a hold). The amount was withdrawn from my account immediately.
During the rental period, our car was involved in an accident caused by a drunk driver coming from the opposite direction. All damages were fully paid on the spot by the at‑fault driver’s family and insurance company, confirmed in the official report and signed settlement documents.
Despite this, the company has not refunded my deposit, even after numerous reminders and clear proof that the repair costs were covered in full.
Their communication has been inconsistent, and as of now, the deposit remains withheld without justification.
After months of unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue, I’ve started formal procedures through ASEAN consumer channels and EU claim platforms, with legal assistance to recover my funds.
I find it very disappointing that a travel service provider operates this way.
I strongly advise future travellers to be very cautious when renting from this company, especially regarding how deposits are charged and refunded
