Rental “golf” Clubs
岘港高尔夫俱乐部的点评
点评：I was invited as a guest to play The Norman Course and arrived early, requesting stiff steel rental clubs as I always do.
At the range, my caddie brought out a graphite set. I explained the issue and she immediately went to sort it, no problem there. She was genuinely great throughout and did everything she could with what she had.
What followed was the frustration.
After waiting past my tee time, she returned with regular steel. Still not correct. I was then taken to the club store, only to be told there were no stiff steel clubs available after a quick search. At that point, I was brought to reception and told I wouldn’t be getting a discount, something I hadn’t asked for at any stage. It felt less like customer service and more like being shut down before I’d even raised a concern.
With time ticking on, I just asked my caddie to bring whatever was available so we could play. The clubs provided (pictured) were in very poor condition, especially for a course charging 990,000 VND per rental.
I’ve played every course in the area and have never experienced anything like this. Mistakes happen, that’s not the issue. What disappointed me was the attitude and the sense of being brushed off with a “same same” response rather than any real attempt to resolve it.
The course itself was tired, with VERY patchy greens and a generally worn feel, which made the price even harder to justify.
The only real positive was my caddie, professional, apologetic and doing her best within a system that clearly wasn’t supporting her.
This wasn’t about expecting perfection. It was about being listened to. Unfortunately, that never happened.
