Lovely course - disappointing experience

点评：The course is lovely but could be great. The combination of green fees and club hire made it an expensive treat but I left with a feeling of disappointment. I arrived an hour or so early to practice, the welcome was underwhelming and oddly I was not allowed to sign in for the round until 40 minutes before my tee time - no explanation given. Hire clubs were a separate transaction and I was able to pay for and pick up the hire clubs on arrival, though the set was 12 clubs not the normal 14 and short on wedges. No balls included which is rare.
Since I had not signed in, no cart was yet available so staff gave me a lift to and from the driving range, which is of a good quality. Received a small basket of range balls, any more had to be paid for back in the shop and it would not have hurt to give a decent basket full of balls.
No starter on duty so played the course with no insights on what to look forward to, or how to access facilities or catering. No signage on holes meaning a high reliance on cart GPS and the only place to buy balls is the shop and they are all premium - so bring lots of your own.
My challenge to management is to put yourselves in your customers shoes and think through their whole experience. You could make it great but at the moment many of the touch points were disappointing.
