Princess Theatre, Torquay的点评
点评：The seats are really uncomfortable, & whilst I suffer with back issues, it’s been a long time since I had to leave mid show due to seating. Tall ppl will also find their knees touching the seat in front.
As for the show - sleeping beauty panto.
The good points: firstly, how hard some of those characters worked. Chester the Jester & Nurse Nellie, were very great, despite the sometimes shady material they had.
The prince was v pitchy in his 1st song but then found his notes, thank goodness, & singing by all was v good. Scenery also v good.
The Bad- the script was truly awful- oh yes it was! It might be panto but whomever wrote that production missed the mark & made it seem v provincial. Very little humour for adults that one might expect, instead constant nods to 80’s 90’s to placate us. Chester’s script was so bad I instantly hated him until he won me over by his performance skills. Tell us it’s the last song of the show, then as ppl are standing to leave you have show stopped for Chester to competition with audience & 3 kids that’s unfairly a draw & could’ve been positive for both still by handling differently, all clearly so can do a last costume/set change for a finale that now felt like a bonus reel.
The dancers were fairly good, although 1 of the main girls worked like it was end of season which shouldn’t happen. Choreography was rather old fashioned at times though.
In all, a real mixed bag that made me cringe at the thought of visiting again if I’m honest. Panto supposed to be awkward in the right ways, this wasn’t & it just made what could’ve been good, rather mediocre at best.

舞者们表现尚可，尽管其中一位主要女演员的表演就像是在季末演出一样，这不应该发生。不过，有些编舞确实有点老套。
