Great leisure walk and view

点评：Looking for something to do with the dog during our recent stay, we stumbled upon this spot. The reviews were great. The time we went, parking was not an issue (1:30 pm). We took the Vamanos Canyon to High Road. It was a moderate walk, once you climb the first hill with a wide path. At the beginning before going into the canyon, the view of the coast is incredible! The rest of the path was single person wide, with shade, small stream bridge crossings. Toward the end, we came upon the cows we heard about. Most will move on, one didn’t want to leave our path, so we had to walk around. They are not afraid of dogs. The path we took was well signed and maintained. Saw a little poison oak on the side of the trail. At the farthest point in, there is a nice picnic bench nestled in the oaks. There is also a bench at the highest point that has a beautiful view back toward the ocean. Perfect way to get out of the hotel, stretch the legs and/or work off the vacation meals. Trail reported 30 minutes, but since we meandered, it took us a little over an hour.
