Yacht Angelito的点评
点评：We took the last voyage of Angelito I - the ship has now been replaced by a newer ship so in some sense doing this review doesn't make sense. Everything has changed, even the guide. Which is a shame because our guide, Maya, made the trip. She was thoughtful and patient, being able to teach to a wide range of individuals and interests. She kept both myself and my children, as well as the rest of the ship, rapt at attention. She dealt with mishaps that were nobody's fault - a storm wiped out half a day iterniary (and nearly the boat!), a crewman needed to get to the hospital - with poise. We will always remember the trip and Maya.
Talking with people on the plane back, while Iterniary A is outstanding, I don't think anybody gets much of a different experience in terms of seeing animals and snorkeling. You can see most things on day trips. But you won't get the wonders of learning without a dedicated, gray guide. Nor will you get the camaraderie from a small ship of people who are there not bc of the luxury but bc of a love of nature.
As far as the now finished ship, it was all you need. The food was good, the bedrooms were big enough, the bathrooms were tiny and the showers struggled with temperature control. None of that detracted from the trip of a lifetime for us and our two kids. Our 9 year old pleaded to extend the cruise (we did the 4 night A1 journey) but we couldn't change our flights. Tears. But that sadness shows how special the Angelito, and Maya, was.
You will remain in our memories and hearts, Angelito I. I can only hope Angelito II lives up to your legacy.
