点评:If you’re visiting Chania, a trip to Botanical Park & Gardens of Crete is absolutely worth it. The location is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. You can walk up and down the paths for hours, surrounded by a wide variety of plants and animals - peacocks, geese, donkeys, and ducks can be found at the bottom part of the garden along with a small pond.
What really stands out is the serenity. There’s silence, sunshine, and the constant sound of bird songs, which makes the whole place feel calm and inspiring. We spent about three hours there with a 3 y.o. child, and it was perfect - lots to see, and plenty of space to explore.
We visited in March and the weather was lovely: not cold and not hot, just ideal for walking. There were almost no people around, which made the experience even more peaceful. The café was closed during our visit, but the restrooms were open and available.
It’s also impressive to learn that the area was affected by a wildfire in 2003. A lot has been renovated since then, and the result is a beautiful garden that feels both natural and carefully restored.
Overall, a quiet, inspiring place to slow down, enjoy nature, and spend a relaxed few hours.
