点评:What a wonderful experience! Our family of five was on a cruise and decided to book our own excursion. We had excellent communication ahead of time via WhatsApp. We were picked up at the port by Olivier who helped us practice our Spanish and drove us for about 45 minutes over dirt roads through beautiful Costa Rica hills. He was a great driver and I wouldn’t have wanted to do the drive myself. We were greeted by Jayme who spoke excellent English. After some refreshing homemade lemonade she gave us a fascinating tour of the farm. Showing us multiple varieties of cacao, letting us cut the pods down and then opening them for us so we could taste fresh cacao beans. She also showed us other plants such as pineapple, vanilla bean , and cinnamon. She showed us the process they use for fermentation and drying. We learned so much. And then we got to grind dried cacao beans and make our own chocolate bars! While we waited for the chocolate to harden, they served us an amazingly delicious authentic Costa Rican lunch, cooked by Aleda. Some of the best chicken I’ve ever had! We also had a chocolate facial which felt surprisingly good. Jayme and Aleda were so warm, kind and fun they made us feel like part of their family. We highly recommend Osa Cacao Chocolate farm tour. One of the highlights of our trip!
