点评：This refers to the beach and area next to it. First, the beach, as others point out, the swimming area is a cordened off section and it is subject to closure if weather is bad. The beach itself is not jam packed but the free seats are always taken unless getting there early. The waves are noisy due to them rolling in from the South China Sea, making a traditional lay on the beach a bit more noisy than would be usually the case. Explore the beach and locate a spot that is suitable to personal preference.
The beach has a 'boardwalk' adjacent to it with many bars and restaurants. These places look good on first impression but are lacking in quality. Every place just sells bottles and cans that can be found in convenience stores at a third of the price. Most places have seafront seating, but again its difficult to find one empty, although I managed to. The bars generally stay open until 2 or 3am, however like the beach, if bad weather is forecast they all remain closed.
This place also has a car park behind it. Nearby is a McDonalds, Starbucks and other restaurants.
If staying Dadonghai, its a good place to utilize but the service is not up to scratch. These bars are a mix of Russian, Chinese, Chill, and even a Latin place. If going, a bar called Nine O'clock pub seems to be the best.
