点评：My husband and I just completed a 10-day tour with Connect the Dots Tours of Ireland, and it was simply amazing. Our guide, Mark Doherty, is a professional Irish guide and local historian who knows Irish history, culture, and geology in depth. He makes it all come alive through storytelling, ballads, and authentic experiences that brought us close to local life.
The small group tour (limited to 16 people) meant we could travel back roads, stay in unique village hotels, eat at local cafes and pubs, and enjoy new friends on the road. Highlights included:
• The Felons Club in Belfast: A profound look at local history.
• Atlantic Sheepdogs: Watching Maude the sheepdog herd sheep, a true staple of Irish rural life.
• Doolin Music House: Enjoying music with Christy and Conor, where some of us even tried Irish dancing.
• Hawkeye Falconry: Observing the ancient skills of John and Caroline up close.
The tour was more than just good food and scenic routes; it was a dive into the soul of historic Ireland. We explored the "800-year war" for freedom, monasteries, castles, cathedrals, and traditional farming practices. Mark shared insights into the Titanic’s legacy, the Guinness family, and the profound impact of the 19th-century potato famine.
