点评：The Hôtel-Dieu was easily one of the highlights of our time in Beaune. You may come for the famous colourful roof, but once inside there is so much more to discover.
What impressed us most was the atmosphere of the place and how beautifully its history has been preserved. Walking through the old hospital rooms, seeing the original details, the pharmacy and the different spaces gives you a real sense of what this extraordinary institution once represented. There is something quite moving about discovering a place created centuries ago to care for people in need.
The architecture is stunning, of course, but it was the combination of beauty, history and human purpose that made the visit so interesting for us.
Take your time rather than rushing through it, there are so many details worth noticing. An absolute must when visiting Beaune, and genuinely one of the most memorable historical places we discovered in Burgundy.
