I stayed two nights at Cinnamon. It was a nice hotel, with friendly staff and good food. Unfortunately, when checking out, I showed the staff which bags needed to be loaded into the car while I dealt with the bill.
After a three-hour drive to Kandy and unloading my luggage, I noticed one bag was missing. I was shocked—everything I needed was in that bag.
I called the hotel, but they were extremely unhelpful. After five phone calls, they finally gave me the number of a coach driver. My bag had been placed on a coach in Colombo, seven hours away.
Our driver then had to find another driver willing to collect the bag and bring it all the way to Kandy the following day. The manager contributed 5,000 rupees toward the delivery cost, which was 15,000 rupees . They refused to pay the full amount considering it was their mistake and a huge one.
Please make sure all your luggage is loaded into the correct vehicle when checking out. The hotel offered no apology—it was only through my persistence that they provided the coach driver’s number.
