点评:Life doesn't always take us down the path we imagined. Sometimes it becomes harder and harder, and with every challenge, another layer of trauma is added.
Traditional therapy can help, and it has its place. But in my experience, it often provided temporary relief without reaching the deeper roots of what I was carrying. I could understand my trauma intellectually, but understanding it and truly releasing it were two very different things.
What makes Earth Awareness so special it's not only the medicine, but the people behind it and the purpose of what they have created. It is a space where healing is not rushed, where vulnerability is not judged, and where nobody expects you to be anything other than yourself.
For someone who has spent years living with trauma, expectations, grief, addiction and the constant pressure to appear strong, that freedom is almost impossible to describe.
For the first time in a very long time, I was able to step away from the hyperactive life that trauma had created for me. I could stop running, stop performing, stop pretending everything was fine, and begin to reconnect with myself.
But healing is not always beautiful or easy. It requires courage, patience and the willingness to face parts of yourself that you have spent years avoiding.
In my case, it took four ceremonies and a journey of approximately a year before I was truly able to surrender, let go and find the courage to explore what was buried in my subconscious. We're all different, and for me it is not over yet. But I am grateful for where i got to.
What I value most about Earth Awareness is the environment they provide throughout that process. The care does not begin and end with a ceremony. There is support before, during and afterwards. There is respect for each person's individual experience, an absence of judgment, and a genuine understanding that healing is not something that can be forced.
There is also something incredibly powerful about sharing this experience with others who are carrying their own invisible struggles. People arrive with different stories, but with a common desire to heal. The connections that form are genuine and profound, because they come from a place of vulnerability, understanding and shared humanity.
Unfortunately, in the UK, such therapy remains illegal, yet there is growing scientific interest in their potential therapeutic applications, particularly in relation to trauma, PTSD, addiction and other mental health challenges.
I find it deeply frustrating that approaches with such potential are still so difficult to access through legitimate, regulated therapeutic pathways.
I cannot help wondering how different my life might have been if I had discovered this kind of healing twenty years earlier. How much trauma, self-destructive behaviour, suffering and grief might I have been able to process sooner? How many years might I have spent living rather than simply surviving? But let's look forward.
For me, the experience at Earth Awareness was one of the most challenging, meaningful and transformative investments I have ever made in myself.
I will always be grateful for the care, patience, compassion and dedication that make this work possible. And I an greatful that i have made this journey. And is one of those few choices i would make again in life. If you are ready for this journey, here, you are in the best hands.
