We had the BEST time at the Spice Spoon Clay Kitchen cooking class. Honestly, one of those experiences that feels like so much more than just a cooking class.
The food was absolutely delicious, but we also learned so much about traditional Sri Lankan cooking, the different spices and ingredients, and how everything is prepared. So much of what we used was fresh, homegrown and locally sourced, which made the whole experience feel incredibly authentic.
What really made it special, though, was the atmosphere. It’s such a warm, welcoming family environment - relaxed, fun, generous, and completely unpretentious. We felt so looked after from start to finish, and of course getting to sit down afterwards and eat everything we’d made was a very happy ending. 😂
If you’re in the area, I genuinely couldn’t recommend this enough. Come hungry, ask lots of questions, and prepare to leave both very full and very happy. A brilliant way to experience Sri Lankan food and culture. ❤️
