Disappointing Experience!
Ilaya Highland Resort的点评
点评：We visited Ilaya Highland Resort to celebrate our friend’s birthday. Prior to our visit, we contacted the resort and were provided with their rules, but there was no mention of any charges related to personal makeup or casual photos.
When we arrived, we simply did our own makeup and helped our friend prepare using basic personal items like palettes, blush, and foundation. This was purely for fun and part of celebrating her special day. However, a staff member approached us and said we were not allowed to do a photoshoot and that we needed to pay ₱3,500, claiming that what we were doing was considered “full glam” and that they have their own team for makeup and photoshoots.
We were surprised and disappointed because we are not professional artists—we are students. We were only using our own makeup and taking photos with our mobile phones, without any professional equipment, photographer, or setup. It was never our intention to conduct a commercial or professional shoot.
We believe that such charges should apply to professional services or organized productions, not to guests who are simply enjoying themselves. More importantly, this policy was not clearly stated beforehand, which led to confusion and frustration on our part.
Unfortunately, this experience affected our entire visit. What was supposed to be a fun and memorable birthday celebration turned into a stressful and disappointing one. It felt like a waste of time and effort coming all the way there.
We hope the resort can improve transparency by clearly stating these policies on their social media pages and informing guests in advance, including whether such rules also apply to non-professionals. This would help avoid similar situations in the future.
Overall, the experience was not worth it. While the place has a nice view, that’s about the only positive aspect. I wouldn’t recommend visiting, as it feels like a waste of both time and money.
