Great Instructor, Fun Experience, Would Highly Recommend Moku

点评：Yep, two 50 somethings had a bright idea to take semi-private surfing lessons at 6:30am on Thanksgiving Day. Neither one of us had touched a surf board before, ever. BEST idea ever, and highly recommend doing this with Moku. The folks at Moku were bright eyed at 6:30am, helpful and excited that we were going to catch our first waves that day. This is a shop were lots of locals go to rent their boards. They eagerly welcomed us into the shop, introduced us to our instructor and answered our questions. Our instructor was Sky, and if you can believe it he gave us a 15 minute instructional overview in the shop, and then after walking out to the water both of us were able to stand up on our boards and surf on the first and second tries. We fell lots of times after that, but with reef shoes in chest high water it was fun and still easy. Sky was kind, fun, patient and knowledgeable about surfing. We'd absolutely have him again as an instructor.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: We used a Groupon for the surfing lessons, but the entire experience would have been worth the money even without a discount. NOTE that Moku provides you with everything you need to surf, including rash guards and reef shoes. I did lots of research and there were other shops that only provided these things for an additional fee to rent or buy. You do need rash guards and reef shoes.
