点评:A group of us, approximately 25 people, have regularly booked the Castle for the past few years to eat & celebrate Christmas. This year my husband received a parking fine for £100, simply because we were unaware that you now have to enter your registration number into a machine. The staff did not advise us about the new rule, & there was no machine at the rear of the Castle where we entered. My husband is disabled & parked showing his Blue Badge.
This was an honest mistake on our behalf, so we contacted the Castle to ask if they would help us. The uninterested & unhelpful response we received from the Trustees via ‘Reception’ was shocking. They say they have nothing to do with the parking, which I find hard to believe. This is supposed to be a charitable trust, but it’s run by people with no regard or empathy for their customers.
We ended up paying the fine; the parking company were also not interested in the fact that we had eaten there & were regular customers. They are only there to make money. The whole appeal process, which took over a month, was stressful & upsetting.
We live in Whitstable. There are many lovely venues nearby that value your custom, so we will not be returning to the Castle again.
