点评:Searching through AllTrails, I found a (pretty strenuous) hike to Ky Quan San peak that I wanted to try. Through my research, I learned that the trailhead is incredibly difficult to find, so it was best to hire a guide. I am so glad I did!! I had a very authentic, rustic experience with my guide, Mrs. Tung, who knew the area very well. She cooked many delicious meals, and I was very comfortable in the wooden shack for two nights. A very cute dog followed us for most of the way. With a bit of a language barrier, and ~especially~ since I was solo, I definitely had to go with the flow, but that's to be expected. Gio Ly was incredibly helpful on Whatsapp, his communication in regards to transportation was particularly helpful, and he is very quick to respond.
To those hiking Ky Quan San in particular, which is a very specific itinerary you can book— I am very glad I researched it beforehand, and was drawn there on my own volition :) Be prepared for steep climbs, 2200m gain on the way up and obviously also the way down... You should be a seasoned hiker— this made Mt. Fuji look like a walk in the park. But very rewarding views! Aside from a few villagers, there was no one else on the trail. Extremely peaceful, a much needed break from Hanoi. My trip to Vietnam would not have felt complete without this, thank you so much 🫶🫶
