点评：We took a 6 day tour with the Vilca crew. They picked us up right on time from our hotel and we were off to Manu. Our guide, Edson, was so attentive not only to finding us the target species, but ensuring that we were comfortable every step of the trip. The second morning I had some horrible issues with food poisoning. Edson was immediate with his plan to get me to a Dr to get me the drugs I needed. Thanks to him, I was better by the next day, and didn’t miss out on any of the planned itinerary. We were very fortunate to have him as a guide. I speak very little Spanish and he is trilingual. I was impressed that he could tell me the names of almost all of the animals we encountered in multiple languages. He not only knew about the animals but also the plants, and was deeply in tune with the inner workings of the forest. He was able to find us a pair of South American tapirs, which were at the top of my list to see. This man did not run out of energy, and was always scouting out the horizon to see what we may encounter next. You could tell that he loves what he does, because guiding came very naturally and wasn’t just a job for him. I couldn’t believe how many animals we were able to see. The chef, Eloy, and boat crew, Percy and David, were also pivotal to the success of this trip. Eloy prepared tasty and nutritious meals, while the boat crew expertly navigated the heavily wooded rivers. I was very comfortable in the confident hands of this team and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to take this journey.
