Great morning at Einstein House
Einstein House (Einsteinhaus)的点评
点评：As a scientist, visiting Einstein’s former home was one of the highlights of my trip to Bern.
I booked my ticket online in advance, so when I arrived I simply showed my email confirmation, and the staff printed my admission ticket at the entrance. The whole process was quick and straightforward.
The museum does an excellent job of balancing Einstein’s scientific achievements with his personal life. Of course, it explains how he lived here while working at the Swiss Patent Office and wrote the groundbreaking 1905 papers that changed modern physics, but it also explores his family life, marriage, children, later move to Princeton, and many lesser-known aspects of his story.
The apartment itself isn’t enormous, so don’t expect to spend several hours here, but if you enjoy science or history, it’s absolutely worth visiting. It gives a much more personal perspective on one of history’s greatest scientists than simply reading about him in textbooks.
From an accessibility point of view, there are a few fleets of stairs to climb (a little steep).
