点评:First the good news! We had amazing dive guides and boat personnel. Greg, Susie, Jeff (Dive Tribe) and Juan were knowledgable guides, helpful, friendly and so accommodating. The boat captains gave excellent briefings and were very knowledgeable and helpful too. The diving was great. That’s the only reason I didn’t give MDA one star.
Now for the bad news - the dive shop and management.
Our group had arranged for two days of diving. The first day was quoted at $164 to dive the Cormoran and Taki Maru wrecks for five of us to include a guide. The second day price was confusing since they quoted both $65 and $164 per person for a two tank boat dive. When I questioned the difference They said the $65 was only for a spot on the boat. That if we wanted a guide, tanks and weights it was an additional $99/person (there were 8 of us with two guides on our second day of diving).
The dive guides were only paid $150 each - the shop kept the balance despite charging each person for the guides. All the guides are contractors to the store- so why is the store charging an additional ~ $500. I get there is some overhead and profit due to the shop, but that high rate is outrageous.
Numerous people told us the weights and tanks were part of the original $65 quote, so conflicting information from the shop.
Further, they charged some of our group for weights above 12 lbs. After fighting that since we each had already paid $164, the shop did refund that money. The refunded it though only after our group fought the charge.
Finally, the shop is about 2-3 miles from the boat and they do not provide ANY transportation nor did they tell us and we had let our taxi go on the first day. The dive guide (Juan) was kind enough to help us out, and even made two trips.
The shop is neither honest, transparent and nickels and dimes you to death. I would find a guide and book direct with them. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of dive operators with boats in Guam, so you might have to deal with this company. Just watch your quotes, verify everything in writing and hold them to it.
