Stretching along both sides of the Limmat River, it’s perfect for wandering slowly and discovering hidden gems around every corner.
We loved exploring the winding lanes of Niederdorf and Augustinergasse, spotting ornate fountains, independent boutiques, and cosy cafés tucked between centuries-old façades. Church towers rise above the rooftops, trams glide by, and the sound of bells drifts through the air.
It’s a place where everyday life and history blend effortlessly — you can shop, dine, or simply sit by the river and watch Zürich’s rhythm unfold. Whether you visit for an hour or a whole day, the Old Town captures the city’s charm at its most authentic.
